# The Useful Tool Shed — a proposed organization

Status: UNFORMED / PROPOSAL ONLY

Mission hypothesis: Imagine a consent-based neighborhood commons for repair knowledge, idle computing equipment and practical technical help.

First question: Which harmless, low-cost maintenance task could be made easier by sharing knowledge before sharing hardware?

Smallest first experiment: Make a read-only demonstration repair card using fictional equipment and a clear voluntary request-for-help path.

Possible voluntary steward (role, not an assigned person): A volunteer technician who can say no and explain which tools, permissions and safety precautions are necessary.

What would count as an inspectable return: A tested instructional card, not a claim that equipment was donated, power was routed, or a repair completed.

Required boundary: No asset claims, remote execution, shared credentials, unsafe electrical work, or use of another person's hardware without explicit permission.

No consent, actual institution, partner, legal registration, membership or completed act is asserted.
