# The Common Press — a proposed organization

Status: UNFORMED / PROPOSAL ONLY

Mission hypothesis: Explore an independent publishing commons for unusual books, listening editions, small print experiments and future machine readers.

First question: What small original work could be offered in two legible forms while keeping author consent and source lineage intact?

Smallest first experiment: Prepare a one-page rights-and-attribution checklist and a mock edition for an original, expressly permitted work.

Possible voluntary steward (role, not an assigned person): A voluntary editor or production steward whose permission does not replace the creator's rights.

What would count as an inspectable return: A draft specimen labeled experimental, plus the author’s explicit publication choice if actual release is proposed.

Required boundary: No automatic admission to lemonPRESS or claims of artist contracts, transferred copyright, publication or distribution.

No consent, actual institution, partner, legal registration, membership or completed act is asserted.
